Romanov weighed in below 240 pounds against Sherman (before that fight he had started his diet change) and against Tybura. In my opinion, losing his undefeated probably influenced him to only want to work on his wrestling (neglecting other aspects as a fighter) thinking that he would beat Volkov like he did, with most of his opponents in his UFC run.

As far as I understand, Romanov did not participate in the promotional events and Media Day of the card either: In my opinion, his stay in the UFC is on the line after this bad camp and terrible performance. He must focus on the things that he must change to complete the positive things that he has as a fighter (pressure, wrestling and being young for the weight class).

I think Yan is amazing, and I felt that he beat Suga Sean. I hesitated to pick the finish though.

I'll still be able to talk myself into Romanov's gorilla strength if he shows back up at 240 and doesn't blow his gas tank on meme slams. He has a kind of belligerent raw strength that can't be trained.

I think this fight goes down to whether or not Yan fights emotionally, especially coming off of an L to O'Malley of all people.
