Marcus McGhee, TKO, R1
This might be closer than people think.I would not bet on this one.

Predictions: 9 of 11 Winners, 3 Perfect, 550 Points | Tied for 1586th
Magomed Ankalaev, DEC
Ankalaev is the obvious pick but I am rooting for Walker. I think Ankalaev will wrestle his way to a victory possibly finding a submission as he wears on Walker.
Nicolau vs. Kape II
Manel Kape, DEC
Tougher fight to pick than the odds would imply but leaning Kape. Nicolau is getting heavily disrespected for losing to a killer like Royval though and I wouldn’t be surprised if he pulls off the upset.
Miller vs. Benítez
Jim Miller, TKO, R2
Miller has looked incredible for his age and mileage, this is the perfect sort of fight for a veteran like him instead of feeding them to the wolves. Should be a fun fight while it lasts.
Simón vs. Bautista
Mario Bautista, DEC
This may be a biased pick as I’m a big Bautista fan but I think he takes the win here. This is a very tough fight though and we’ll see just how good Bautista is.
Hawes vs. Ferreira
Brunno Ferreira, TKO, R1
Nightmare match up for Hawes and likely his final fight in the UFC. Unless Hawes decides to strictly wrestle I see him getting flatlined, even then Ferreira is a bjj black belt and no joke on the ground.
Arlovski vs. Cortes-Acosta
Waldo Cortes-Acosta, DEC
Arlovski getting slept by Mayes is concerning as Cortes is a much better boxer. I expect him to use leg kicks, and grappling to try to find a path to victory but ultimately losing a decision, at least that’s what I hope. I don’t want to see salsa boy dancing over Arlovski’s corpse.
Semelsberger vs. Parsons
Matthew Semelsberger, TKO, R1
Very unfortunate for smellyburger the way he lost his last two but I like him to bounce back here. My main concern is that it’s short notice however I think he can find the chin of Parsons early and avoid a prolonged fight.
McGhee vs. Bolaños
Marcus McGhee, TKO, R2
Huge fan of Mcghee both inside the cage and outside. I think the UFC like him he’s obviously very entertaining in the cage but also promotes himself well outside of it for how new he is. This should be a fun striking match up however I think Mcghee finds yet another finish either a tko or club and sub potentially.
Basharat vs. Lapilus
Farid Basharat, DEC
Lapilus is very underrated and a solid veteran of the sport however I think Basharat will use his grappling to secure the victory. I expect this to be similar to the Blackshear fight in terms of a close back and forth between these two.
Wilson vs. Silva
Jean Silva, DEC
The odds for this fight make absolutely zero sense. Silva looked good in his contender series fight but how does he go from an underdog to a +900 or more favorite on a short notice debut. Wilson got smoked by Brito, but I’m super high on Brito and he just showed how good he is in the JSP fight (he’s my dark horse of the division). Anyways Silva isn’t Brito and these odds make zero sense. I’m still picking Silva but I had to throw a little something on Wilson by sub at these odds, Silva by decision is also crazy at +1100.
Nolan vs. Motta
Tom Nolan, TKO, R1
I honestly can’t believe the odds aren’t even wider. Motta has shown to have no chin and is facing a striker known for his finishing ability. I don’t expect this to go past round 1. I understand why people may be concerned due to Nolan’s lack of experience only being 6-0 but Motta isn’t the guy to expose that.
Bunes vs. Van
Joshua Van, DEC
First fight of the year!! When I first looked at Bunes’ record I thought this was a mismatch but his losses are to solid competition. I think he’s a lot better than his record and age would indicate. Unfortunately I do think Van still edges out a decision, but I think the fight will be closer than people expect probably 29-28.

Predictions: 8 of 11 Winners, 4 Perfect, 540 Points | Tied for 1726th
Johnny Walker, TKO, R3
Magomed consistently has the most controversial fights. These constant rematches do him no favors, he should be well up the rankings in this division by now, but its rematch, etc. One of the more paced, slower and methodical fights of the night leads to boo’s and some frustration for viewers. In the 3rd when it seems it will be a long one, Magomed lands on Johnny Walker, and Walker acts rocked. As Magomed steps inward, JW delivers a highlight reel KO head-kick reminiscent of Silva//Machida, and everyone will forget how exciting this fight was prior to the KO.
Nicolau vs. Kape II
Manel Kape, TKO, R1
I believe the UFC has its prayers answered here, they get a fresh new year star for UFC 300 quick turn around. Manel Kape rolls through Nicolau this time, and in Stardom fashion. Flying Knee after some beautiful feigns. He avenges his split decision loss, he has massively improved his game since he fought Nicolau to a split dec, one month after fighting Pantoja.
Miller vs. Benítez
Jim Miller, TKO, R1
Jim Miller wastes no time doing exactly what he wants here. He boxes and gets this down to a near-cage half guard. He postures up when he can to lay down huge strikes. He is relentless here and KOs Benítez cold.
Simón vs. Bautista
Mario Bautista, DEC
29-28x3 uni. Bautista takes this one, he knows what he will be facing and he has shown to be a sneakily dangerous fighter.
Hawes vs. Ferreira
Brunno Ferreira, TKO, R2
Hawes can crack Ferreira for sure, however Brunno bounces back from his ko loss and fights a much more technical fight, leaving Hawes to throw out his gameplan and make mistakes. TKO 2 Strikes and knees to the body on the cage.
Arlovski vs. Cortes-Acosta
Andrei Arlovski, DEC
Shieeeet, these odds are ridiculous. Give me a 6-month-rested Arlovski by 29-28x3 unanimous decision.
Semelsberger vs. Parsons
Preston Parsons, DEC
30-27, 29-28, 28-29. Split. Semels’ takes too much damage trying to implement his gameplan here.
McGhee vs. Bolaños
Marcus McGhee, DEC
Gonna be a high-octane banger but McGhee doesn’t let up, he puts the majority of offense and Bolaños will be bloodied up. 30-27x2 29-28 uni.
Basharat vs. Lapilus
Farid Basharat, DEC
This will be a much closer fight, some will lean towards Lapilus but the judges honor the zero in the loss column. 29-28x2 28-29 split.
Wilson vs. Silva
Jean Silva, TKO, R1
TKO Jean takes it to WW early, it starts to look like he spent a little too much gas after some success, but he lands a huge shot that puts Wilson down. Another one for good measure. TKO to hammerfist late round 1.
Nolan vs. Motta
Tom Nolan, TKO, R1
Nolan lands several clean shots down the middle and that really bothers Motta. This leaves Motta open to being on the receiving end of a Head kick GnP TKO. L
Bunes vs. Van
Joshua Van, SUB, R1
UFC Is back!! Van uses some solid striking to get this down, he has his way once he does. Back mount quick, rnc, tap.

Johnny Walker, TKO, R2
I mean Ankalaev should win, but Walker since his meme Ko has came back locked in and ready to entertain so i'll keep riding with him
Nicolau vs. Kape II
Manel Kape, TKO, R2
Underwhelming performance against Dos Santos for me but the guy looked good, anything less than a finish and he doesn't get near a titleshot and I think he knows that
Arlovski vs. Cortes-Acosta
Waldo Cortes-Acosta, DEC
I want to choose Arlwashki badly because I just don't rate Acosta at all but think there's value in playing the decision here
Semelsberger vs. Parsons
Preston Parsons, DEC
I remember Semelsberger looking great against Wells and then it just went so bad and I couldn't believe it, KO loss after that aswell - I'm taking Parsons in a close fight
McGhee vs. Bolaños
Gaston Bolaños, DEC
Probably a crazy prediction but I don't rate either fighter and ill take looking like a genius if it pays off

“I want to say I’m sorry to the UFC and my opponent for missing weight. This has never happened in my career
(2nd time now). I’m super professional, and this won’t happen anymore. Yes, I was very hungry (cutting weight). I walk at 159 (pounds and cut to 125). I ate some foods I shouldn’t eat. This kept my weight (up). I tried to make the weight, but I felt if I made the weight I would not be healthy.” - Manel Kape
