Maycee Barber Wiki

Maycee Kaye Barber is an American mixed martial artist. She currently competes in the Flyweight division in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. As of 8/30/2022, she is #11 in the UFC women's Flyweight rankings.

Barber was born and raised in Greeley, Colorado and began training MMA at an early age. Barber's father was very supportive of her fighting aspirations and helped her travel around the country to learn and grow. Barber trains at Team Alpha Male. She is a 2nd degree black belt in karate and a purple belt in Brazilian jiu jitsu.

Barber's MMA career began in 2017. In her only amateur MMA bout in, Barber blew threw her opponent with a KO victory twenty seconds into the first round. She made her professional debut five months later at LFA 14, defeating Itzel Esquivel by first round armbar. Barber went 4-0 in the Legacy Fighting Alliance with three finish victories (two submission, one TKO) to earn a spot on Season 2 of Dana White's Contender's Series. She defeated Jamie Colleen by third round TKO.

Barber's UFC career began with three finish victories in a row over Hannah Cifers (UFC Fight Night: The Korean Zombie vs. Rodríguez), JJ Aldrich (UFC Fight Night: Thompson vs. Pettis), and Gillian Robertson (UFC on ESPN: Reyes vs. Weidman). The Aldrich fight marked Barber's transition from Strawweight to Bantamweight. Barber would suffer a setback by losing in dominant fashion to WMMA pioneer Roxanne Modafferi by unanimous decision (UFC 246). She lost her next fight to Alexa Grasso also via unanimous decision (UFC 258). She broke the losing streak with a controversial split decision win over Miranda Maverick (UFC on ESPN: Sandhagen vs. Dillashaw). More recently, she has earned back to back UD wins over Montana De La Rosa (UFC Fight Night: Lemos vs. Andrade) and Jessica Eye (UFC 276).
